Houston Composers Alliance (HCA) is a project oriented organization whose membership consists of Composers, Performers and Associate members. Its objectives are:

• To encourage the creation and performance of Houston's new concert music nationally and internationally;
• To increase public awareness and appreciation of Houston's new concert music;
• To encourage artistic and cultural diversity in the production and presentation of new concert music;
• To encourage the highest standards of quality in the production of new concert music

Houston Composers Alliance was founded in 1986 by then Houston Symphony Composer in Residence, Tobias Picker. Since that time HCA has participated in many world premiere concerts in the Houston area with the Houston Symphony and as a presenting organization itself.
